Energy
Assessment of Commercial Buildings - EPC Schedule
|

The
current schedule for EPC implementation dates are provided
below, the dates specified may be subject to change without
notice, this also includes the designated buildings that are
listed here.
The
Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG) have
revised the timetable. The timetable included here is the
latest EPC schedule
that is available.

The roil out will
commence throughout 2008, and for property managers whose
buildings have air conditioning equipment installed, this will
also require inspection by a commercial energy assessor.
The schedule below
will affect all New Build Property and existing buildings
within the commercial sector that will require a EPC,
or, a DEC in the
case of public buildings.
You are advised to
check back on a regular basis to review any changes to the
proposed timetable specified. |

EPC
Measures and current deadlines for implementation for commercial and
public buildings. As at Nov 2007.

6 April 2008 |
EPCs
required on construction for all dwellings.
EPCs required for the construction, sale or rent of buildings
other than dwellings with a floor area over 10,000 m2.

1 July 2008 |
EPCs
required for the construction, sale or rent of buildings other
than dwellings with a floor area over 2,500 m2.
|
|
1 October 2008 |
EPCs
required on the sale or rent of all remaining dwellings
EPCs required on the construction, sale or rent of all
remaining buildings other than dwellings.
Display certificates
required for all public buildings >1,000 m2.

4 January 2009 |
First
inspection of all existing air-conditioning
systems over 250 kW must have occurred by this date.
|
|
4 January 2011 |
First
inspection of all remaining air-conditioning
systems over 12 kW must have occurred by this date.
|
Updates
will appear here as and when CLG revise the implementation
proposals. As part of this program air conditioning systems will
require inspection. Air conditioning systems will be subject to
inspection by an accredited commercial energy
assessor.

Energy Performance Certificates EPCs and providers of energy assessment
will be required for all other properties in the future including
energy certificates for Social Housing inspection and Rented
Property sectors. A Commercial Energy Assessor Forum is available online,

for commercial/industrial buildings.
